During the second term of the Art, Space + Nature program, students study post-war architecture, focusing on the "utopic" new-town, Cumbernauld.

Cumbernauld is a Scottish new town in North Lanarkshire, created in 1956 to accomodate population growth in Glasgow. While Cumbernauld was built to be a utopia, it now is one of the lowest-ranked locations in the UK.

During this project we met with the original town-artist of Cumbernauld, visited various sites in and around the town, and created individual installations in the town centre (which is a partially closed shopping centre).

The final exhibition, "Today is Yesterday's Tomorrow" drew the attention of architects, artists, academics and town locals. The exhibition served as both a visual exhibit and a forum on architecture.

My contribution consisted of a complete set of over-sized dominos. The domino set was displayed in a closed department store. The stark yet systematic design of the dominos was meant to mirror the design of Cumbernauld.
